WYnova is an entity recognised by AI², the Portuguese Agency for Research and Innovation, to carry out R&D activities. Projects your company develops with WYnova are eligible for SIFIDE II and EU funding. The recognition is valid until 2037.
Selo ID is the Recognition of Suitability to carry out Research & Development activities, granted by AI², the Portuguese Agency for Research and Innovation, under Article 37-A of the Investment Tax Code. It certifies WYnova's capability to carry out R&D and makes the expenditure contracted by its clients automatically eligible for tax incentives, without project-by-project validation.
Recognised technical and scientific fields
ICT applied to healthcare; ICT in business; ICT applied to the creative industries; Mobility and urban space.
Valid until 2037, pursuant to the AI² decision of July 2026.
SIFIDE II
R&D expenditure contracted from WYnova is eligible for deduction from IRC payable without case-by-case validation, because WYnova is a recognised entity. The base rate is 32.5%, increased to up to 82.5% where there is incremental investment in R&D.
2026 expenditure: applications must be submitted by 31 May 2027
EU funding
When your company has a call for applications in preparation or approved (SIID I&D Empresarial or SICE Inovação Produtiva), WYnova takes part as an eligible R&D partner, as a subcontractor or co-promoter. Non-repayable grants vary by call, region and company size.
SIID Demonstrators: open until 29 December 2026
Enter the investment amount and the funding instrument. The simulator applies the rules in force for each instrument.
SICE Inovação Produtiva is reserved for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises. For large companies, WYnova assesses the appropriate scheme case by case.
SIID co-finances up to 80% of eligible expenditure (85% for non-business entities in the scientific system), except in the Lisbon region, where the ceiling is 40%. The exact rate for the project depends on the call and the type of operation, and WYnova confirms it case by case.
Indicative simulation, calculated on the basis of the rules in force in July 2026. The instruments cannot be combined on the same expenditure (double funding is prohibited). SIFIDE II requires an application to AI² by 31 May of the year following the expenditure, and available IRC liability (which can be carried forward for up to 12 years). SIID and SICE co-financing rates vary by call, region and type of operation. Before making any decision, confirm the figures with the WYnova team or a certified adviser. The final simulation is carried out with the WYnova team, with no obligation.
AI²'s recognition was based on 4 applied research projects, funded from WYnova's own resources:
Transport, Computer Vision
Speed measurement with conventional CCTV cameras, with no dedicated sensor. Result: MAE ≤ 3 km/h under real field conditions.
Health, Clinical NLP
Clinical assistant with real-time voice transcription for European Portuguese. Result: a 40 per cent reduction in clinical documentation time.
Video games, Reinforcement Learning
A reinforcement learning agent that assesses the difficulty of procedurally generated video game levels. Result: a 60 per cent reduction in playtesting costs.
Education, NLP
Automatic marking of handwritten exams using OCR and NLP. Result: accuracy ≥ 92 per cent, 70 per cent reduction in marking time.
The scheme has been extended only until the 2026 tax year. A review of the scheme is currently underway, with no guarantees for 2027.
Individual and co-promotion demonstrator projects under COMPETE 2030. Expenditure incurred before the application is ineligible, so the project must be designed before submission.
Non-extendable deadline. R&D expenditure carried out with WYnova in 2026 is eligible, provided the application is submitted by this date.
A 30-minute meeting, with no obligation. At the end, your company receives an estimate of the benefit and a recommendation on the appropriate instrument.
WYnova responds within one working day.
